The album I'm most proud of thus far, and most afraid to follow up.
Saying Goodbye To Yesterday is a lot of things to me. The title represents a point in my life rather than any particular track on the album. It's still amateur, certainly, but unlike my previous albums where I largely fooled around, this was the first time I got serious about my music.
Loops and samples are erased from the equation. Everything (sans vocals) was composed using MIDI, hand-drawn in Piano Roll since I don't play keyboards. I had a production consultant (over the internet) for the first time. SGTY covers a lot of personal subjects and tells a few stories, but it weighs in a bit on the long side. Even after seriously cutting everything down, this album runs around 90 minutes. Just a heads up.
Some tunes are older tunes that I recomposed from memory such as Black Rose, Apartheid, and From Black, which were previously loop based. Beyond A Joke sadly appears in an incomplete state.
Overall, Saying Goodbye To Yesterday, is, at the very least indicative of the amount of work I put into my music from here on. I hope you enjoy it.
