This was the last song written for Saying Goodbye To Yesterday. I was almost done recording the entire album when this track was written whilst playing around with Mixcraft 5's new virtual instruments.
This song's about being unhappy and unemployed. I hated people telling me "What Goes Around Comes Around" when I was working my ass off to find a job. I had been jobless for a year and a half. A lot of people I knew were getting jobs because they were friends with the employers, while here I was broke, living at home, graduated, unemployed, and living on $18-24 a month at 20 years old. Things are better now.
About This Song:
[Lyrics]
"What goes around will come around"
Is what some people say
I try so hard to give my best
But it just goes away
Seeing people who have wronged me
Get rewarded night and day
It hits me-
I stopped growing up somewhere along the way
It feels like no matter what I do
Or what I say
I get no opportunities
Nor do they ever come my way
Even so I perservere
To make it through another day
If I can help a single person
Then that's my reason to stay
What goes around doesn't come around
For people who can't see
The opportunity is there
But we so often run away
And when it feels like there is nothing left
Please promise not to say
What goes around comes around
That's when you admit defeat
While I'm being honest I don't have much to say
I'll save the mediocrity until a rainy day
Okay
Thanks
What goes around doesn't come around
For people who can't see
The opportunity is there
But we so often run away
And when it feels like there is nothing left
Please promise not to say
What goes around comes around
That's when you admit defeat
