Hoping

Searching

I am hoping

I am searching

I await the day when light shines forth from black.

I await the day when light shines forth from black.

Living in the wake of a disaster caused by people I don't know

I'm told that if I go above the surface I will see ash fall like snow

But somehow I'm expected just to live within the confines of my home

Oh no, I can't, I won't.

I await the day when light shines forth from black.

I await the day when light shines forth from black.

I am the keeper of my destiny, though I know not what it holds.

I slowly give away the best of me, to try and become whole.

Now I am on my own in search of answers I hope will fill this hole,

I try to reason with myself but I still want to find my home.

I await the day when light shines forth from black.

I await the day when light shines forth from black.

I am hoping

I am searching

I am hoping

I am searching

I am hoping

I am searching

I am hoping

I am searching

I await the day when light shines forth from black/I am hoping, I am searching

I await the day when light shines forth from black/I am hoping, I am searching

I await the day when light shines forth from black/I am hoping, I am searching

I await the day when light shines forth from black/I am hoping, I am searching

I await the day when light shines forth from black

I await the day when light shines forth from black

I await the day when light shines forth from black.

From Black

I make no effort to hide the fact that I'm a gaming nerd. Especially retro gaming, but in this case, it's about a game that isn't that old (to me, at least). The song From Black is written about Fallout 3. Specifically, it's written from the perspective of the main character, "The Lone Wanderer", and the conflicted emotions the game's silent protagonist undergoes during the throes of his journey.

Musically, this is a remake of an older one-off tune I did using guitar and drum samples from Looperman, re-created from memory, but also built upon in order to really make the song my own.

I hope you enjoy the song!
