[Lyrics]

There is an empty house

That sits up on a hill

The memories, though abandoned

They still make me want to kill

This old house is not a home

There's no friendly atmosphere

Even though it's faded

I still come to stand right here

Starting out my bedroom window

Watching as the seasons change

I lay my head down on my pillow

I hear them yell, it hasn't changed

Is it my brother, or my father?

Even now I still don't know

I'm trapped inside these haunting flashbacks

Did I miss my turn to go?

How far will they go?

How far will they go before I'm gone?

How far will they go?

How far will they go before I'm gone?

Ooooh, ooooh

There is an empty room

It used to have a soul

This room it was my brother's,

Now it's nothing but a hole

This whole place, it feels lost

But funny thing though, so do I

Anger occupies my thoughts

But I must leave this place to shine

How far will they go?

How far will they go before I'm gone?

How far will they go?

How far will they go before I'm gone?

Ooooh, ooooh

Ooooh, ooooh

I'm goin' home

I'm goin' home

I'm home

Empty House

I wrote this song based around a piece of writing a friend of mine did several years ago. The original song was written around some guitar samples I found on the internet, but I'm happy to have made it my own. I would like to some day re-visit this track again and give it instrumentation closer to what it started out with. I wrote this song around the same time that I first got into Alice in Chains, with a lot of inspiration from the track Nutshell.

Hope you enjoy!
