[Lyrics]

On and on and on it goes

On and on and on, so painful and slow

Separation's got me anxious

Society just seems so jaded

What else can I really do

Against the odds, if I can't prove

That I'm real?

I feel, so I'll beg borrow and steal

Yeah I'll push to the top

But the top pushes me away

On and on and on it goes

Division's growing wider though

"Us and them, we aren't the same"

He said to me, yeah

We've since parted ways

I don't need to tell you that

This day and age is as happy as it is sad

Sad to think that all of the progress we have made

Hhas been for naught

Well, I guess that's how life goes,

But tolerance should not be an afterthought

Fallin' in a straight line

Tension's such a downgrade

Caught in separation

Forcibly in apartheid

I can feel the tension

Tearing us apart now

Try so hard to fight it

I can't even fake this

Forcibly in apartheid

So far gone while on it goes

Silently awaiting slow

Methodlessly I fall apart

I should have seen this from the start

Fallin' in a straight line

Tension's such a downgrade

Caught in separation

Forcibly in apartheid

I can feel the tension

Tearing us apart now

Try so hard to fight it

I can't even fake this

Forcibly in apartheid

Apartheid

I wrote this song during a two week trip to Truro, Nova Scotia, that was supposed to involve recording an album. I was a fool in thinking that I could record an entire album in two weeks, let alone write one. This is one of the only 3 songs that got written during that time. The other two were a nameless instrumental, and another instrumental that I made the last night we were there, titled "Apologies", as in "sorry for being so foolish". This track is about discrimination and separation. For better or worse, it was the first song I ever wrote on a guitar. The latter being because I can't play guitar. That said, I don't think it's a bad song at all.
