About This Song:
Bitter
[Lyrics]
We're here on the outside
We're done lookin' in
As you're walkin' away
I wonder where to begin
Should I run after you screaming
Should I ask you what's wrong?
That never worked in the past
But I guess what's done is done
So tell me, why are you leaving?
Is it something I did?
Is it something I said?
Does your soul feel dead?
You know I just tried to help you
But you never would talk
I guess we knew this was coming
As I wait for the fall
What the fuck did you expect?
When you beckoned us forward
Then left us to guess
I know you know I could help you
But you stopped at the gate
And wouldn't open the door
But you expect me to wait?
Now I'm bitter
Yes I'm bitter
Fuckin' bitter
I'm so bitter
Now that you're gone
I wonder when you woke up each day
Did you look to the bright side,
Or straight to the gray?
The sun is once again rising
Will you even look back
I know from my point of view
My vision goes straight to black
It's like a solar eclipse
It tries to mess with my mind
And if I stare any longerIt will make me go blind
It's kinda like what you did
Which fuckin' drove me insane
No matter how much I tried to help
It's always in vain
What the fuck did you expect?
When you beckoned us forward
Then left us to guess
I know you know I could help you
But you stopped at the gate
And wouldn't open the door
But you expect me to wait?
Now I'm bitter
Yes I'm bitter
Fuckin' bitter
I'm so bitter
Never is a heavy rock tune in the style of Disturbed. Much like Genesis' Land Of Confusion, a song which Disturbed themselves covered, this song was about my opinion on the state of Western society at the time. Oddly out there for an album which seems to be full of songs about teenage angst and fictional ass kickers, but there it is. The way the album ends. Haha. I hope you enjoyed Saturday at least a little bit. If nothing else, it shows how much I've grown as a singer, songwriter, and composer (seeing as I barely even understood how to write MIDI at this point)!
