About This Song:
[Lyrics]
There's so many moments that I can't replace
So many moments I've been a disgrace
Fallen from high, yeah I've fallen from grace
How can I possibly redeem my name
So many things that I shouldn't have done
So many times that I shouldn't have run
Never alone, now I see it in hindsight
No matter my past, now I stand here to fight
Give it my all
No matter how hard I fall
It won't be from high again
With all this pressure I stand
In the face of adversity
I'm drawing a line in the sand
Never you'll take from me
What I have regained
Never will two fights
Be ever the same
I dare you to face me
I'll give it my all
I'm ready to prove myself
My back to the wall
No point in losing myself in remembrance
I've got to move forward or I'll end up defenseless
But if that's what you think then you're in for a surprise
No hesitation, I open my eyes
I see before me a long winding road
The passage behind me was bitter and cold
But I look ahead to begin life again
Never again will I fall to temptation
Give it my all
No matter how hard I fall
It won't be from high again
With all this pressure I stand
In the face of adversity
I'm drawing a line in the sand
Never you'll take from me
What I have regained
Never will two fights
Be ever the same
I dare you to face me
I'll give it my all
I'm ready to prove myself
My back to the wall
Time keeps on movin'
Generations are lost
In the heat of the moment
It's our line to cross
It's the dawn of a new day
A new time to shine
And I have no regrets
As I leave my past behind
Clocks keep on ticking
You're lost in the day
Waiting for someone or something
To show you the way
You run and you run
But you miss out on the rest
You're shorter of breath
And one day closer to death
Never you'll take from me
What I have regained
Never will two fights
Be ever the same
I dare you to face me
I'll give it my all
I'm ready to prove myself
My back to the wall
Never you'll take from me
What I have regained
Never will two fights
Be ever the same
I dare you to face me
I'll give it my all
I'm ready to prove myself
My back to the wall
This was also inspired by a friend's writing, and was written from the perspective of their character in a story. The author is not the same author that wrote what inspired Empty House. The song includes a bit of a shameless reference to Pink Floyd's Time, with the end of the third verse copied almost verbatim.
