Bittersweet Reprieve is the last song written for the album. I wrote a few of these more aggressive instrumentals around this time and really liked this one after expanding on the basic rhythm throughout the week that it was intitially concieved. The title and the song's mood kind of sum up the state of mind I was in at the time that I wrote this. I had just moved back into my parents house after moving out very suddenly from a shitty living situation, where the majority of this album (including the track listing) was tightened and finalized (the first time). It was good to be home, and it was great to have a break from all the BS that had been going on, but now I was a 22 year old living in my parents' living room with all of my stuff in a few totes by the window and I knew I needed it wasn't going to last.

I really like the lead synth in this track. It sounds like a slide guitar and I think it gives the track a really raw quality. The percussion was also fun to do variations on and get to the point it's at. Enjoy!
